Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how TradeCertAI ("TradeCertAI," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the TradeCertAI mobile app, website, and related services. TradeCertAI is an independent certification exam-preparation service for skilled trades in the United States and Canada.

Information we collect

Account information: email address, account identifier, authentication status, and any profile name you provide.
Study profile: country, selected trade and certification, exam date, and study targets.
Learning activity: practice and mock-exam answers, scores, attempts, topic performance, flashcard activity, study time, readiness information, and daily usage.
AI tutor information: messages you submit, the selected certification and topic, generated responses, usage counts, and token totals.
Subscription information: product, entitlement, transaction status, renewal or expiration status, and a service-specific user identifier. Apple processes payment details; TradeCertAI does not receive your full payment-card information.
Technical information: service requests, timestamps, error and security logs, device or operating-system information supplied by platform services, IP address, and browser information when you use the website.

Do not include personal, confidential, employer-sensitive, or safety-critical information in AI tutor messages. Tutor prompts and responses may be retained in a certification-scoped cache that is not keyed to your account so equivalent study questions can be answered consistently.

How we use information

Provide authentication, certification content, study sessions, progress tracking, quotas, and subscription access.
Generate certification-scoped tutor guidance and improve response consistency.
Maintain service security, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and monitor operating costs.
Respond to support, privacy, account-access, and deletion requests.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

AI tutor processing

Tutor messages are processed using Amazon Web Services, including Amazon Bedrock. Responses are automated and are intended only for certification study support. They are not professional, legal, safety, or code-compliance advice. Always follow current official codes, regulations, employer procedures, instructors, and certification-body materials.

Service providers and disclosure

We use service providers to operate TradeCertAI, including:

Amazon Web Services: hosting, authentication, databases, storage, content delivery, logs, and AI tutor processing.
Apple: app distribution, TestFlight, StoreKit purchases, subscriptions, and related transaction services.
RevenueCat: subscription status, entitlements, purchase restoration, and subscription lifecycle events.
Google Fonts: font delivery on the public marketing website, which may receive standard web-request information.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal information, use it for third-party behavioral advertising, or allow third-party ad tracking in the TradeCertAI app.

Retention

We retain account and learning information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, maintain security, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Service logs, backups, tutor caches, and transaction records may be retained for different periods. When information is no longer required, we delete it or remove identifying account links where reasonably practicable.

Security and international processing

We use access controls, encryption in transit, encrypted managed storage, and restricted cloud permissions designed to protect information. No system is completely secure. Information may be processed in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate.

Your choices and account deletion

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your TradeCertAI account information by emailing info@netgrid.org from the email address linked to your account. We may need to verify your identity. Deleting your TradeCertAI account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription; subscriptions must be managed through your Apple account settings. Some records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or transaction reconciliation.

Children

TradeCertAI is intended for certification candidates and is not directed to children under 13. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will post the updated policy here and revise the effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or other appropriate channels.
